CEDAR RAPIDS - Two Linn County Jail inmates were found were drugs in their bodily orifices in separate incidents, authorities said.
According to the Linn County Attorney's Office, on Dec. 31, Cassie L. Blaylock, 30, of Cedar Rapids, was searched by deputies at the jail. Authorities said a baggie of Alprazolam pills were found hidden in Blaylock's vaginal cavity.
Alprazolam, commonly known as Xanax, is a prescription drug used to treat anxiety and panic disorders.
In a separate incident on Jan. 3, Kyler J. Junkins was arrested and booked at the jail. Junkins was interviewed by jail staff and claimed to not have any contraband. However, a strip search revealed THC wax paper in Junkins' anus.
THC is the active ingredient in marijuana.
Both Blaylock and Junkins have been charged with possession of contraband in a correctional institution, a Class D felony punishable by up to five years in prison.
