IOWA CITY - An Iowa City man is accused of bringing LSD to a meeting at the Iowa City Police Department last June.
According to Iowa City police criminal complaints, on June 1, Emin Dizdar, 23, came to the police department for a scheduled meeting. Dizdar consented to a search during that meeting and an officer found two suspected hits of LSD.
Dizdar told the officer it was 'acid” left over from a festival he had attended in Illinois the previous weekend. Police said the substance tested positive for LSD.
Dizdar's meeting with police came a couple of months after drugs were found in the vehicle he was riding in during a traffic stop. Police said Dizdar was a passenger in a vehicle pulled over around 12:51 a.m. on March 16, 2016. During that stop, officers recovered marijuana contained in vacuum sealed bags, a digital scale and a large amount of cash. Dizdar admitted all of those items belonged to him.
Police said Dizdar was also found to be carrying alprazolam, clonazepam and MDMA, more commonly known as ecstasy.
Dizdar was arrested Saturday on warrants for controlled substance violation, a Class D felony; possession of a controlled substance, a serious misdemeanor; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.
