One dead in rollover crash on Highway 13

CEDAR RAPIDS - A 19-year-old woman was killed Thursday in a crash south of Cedar Rapids on Highway 13.

According to the Linn County Sheriff's Office, multiple agencies responded to 1329 Highway 13 around 2:38 p.m. for a report of a single-vehicle crash. There, they found that the 19-year-old driver of a northbound vehicle lost control and crossed the median. The vehicle rolled and came to rest on its top in the southbound lanes of Highway 13, the sheriff's office said.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. An 18-year-old male passenger in the vehicle was not injured, authorities said. Both the driver and passenger were wearing their seat belts.

The crash remains under investigation. Names of those involved were not immediately released.

All lanes on Highway 13 were reopened as of 5 p.m.
