Iowa City police investigating morning robbery on Mormon Trek Boulevard

IOWA CITY - Iowa City police are investigating a report of a robbery they say took place Monday morning.
According to a police department news release, officers responded to the west side of Iowa City at 10:33 a.m. Monday after receiving a report of a theft.
A 70-year-old man, located in the 900 block of Mormon Trek Boulevard, told police he was walking on the sidewalk when he was approached by another man who stole cash and property from him. The suspect was seen riding a bicycle before the robbery, police said.
The suspect is described as being 18 to 22 years old and approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall. He was wearing a dark-colored shirt, police said.
Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at (319) 358-8477.
