Former North Benton Ambulance Service office manager arrested for theft

BENTON COUNTY - The former office manager of the North Benton Ambulance Service has been arrested.
According to the Iowa Department of Public Safety, 37-year-old Amber Bonlander was arrested in Knoxville County, Ill. on Wednesday on one count of first-degree theft. In December 2014, The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation began investigating several 'suspicious financial transactions” Bonlander made while she served as the office manager for the North Benton Ambulance Service.
Authorities said Bonlander misappropriated thousands of dollars.
Bonlander is now awaiting extradition to Benton County.
