CEDAR RAPIDS - A Marion man is accused of breaking into a Cedar Rapids home and assaulting a woman inside.
According to the Linn County Attorney's Office, Cedar Rapids police were called to a residence on Meadowbrook Drive SE on Saturday, Jan. 21. There, officers discovered 26-year-old Brady E. Steggall had broken out a glass door and made his way inside the apartment, according to police. Steggall also disabled the alarm system, authorities said.
Once inside the home, police said Steggall knocked a woman to the ground, choked her and punched her in the face. When police arrived, Steggall resisted arrest, authorities said.
Steggall was taken into custody and has been charged with first-degree burglary, assault, obstruction of emergency communications and interference with official acts.
