Coralville man accused of driving drunk, hitting house

IOWA CITY - A Coralville man is accused of hitting mailboxes, a parked car and a house while driving drunk.
According to an Iowa City police criminal complaint, 27-year-old Arseno L. Silas fled from the scene of a crash in the 1400 block of Dolen Place around 9:16 p.m. Tuesday. Police located Silas at a nearby gas station and he admitted to crashing his vehicle.
Police said Silas smelled strongly of alcohol and appeared to be intoxicated. A breath test showed his blood alcohol content to be .167 percent, more than twice the legal limit to operate a motor vehicle.
Silas was arrested and faces charges of drunken driving and public intoxication.
