SPRINGVILLE - Three people were injured in a crash on Highway 151 Thursday night.
According to the Linn County Sheriff's Office, around 9:05 p.m., Linn County Sheriff's Rescue, Springville Fire and Anamosa Ambulance responded to a crash with injuries at the intersection of Highway 151 and Springville Road (County Road X20), south of Springville.
Authorities said a northbound vehicle driven by 48-year-old Suzanne Kremer of Aurora, Neb., collided with a southbound vehicle driven by 28-year-old Ariel Hurst of Cedar Rapids.
Ariel and her passenger, 31-year-old Cody Schroeder of Marion, were taken to a Cedar Rapids hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. Kremer's 7-year-old son also was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.
Kremer was cited in the crash, which remains under investigation.
For years, the Iowa Department of Transportation has been studying alternatives for improving the intersection, which has been the site of at least two dozen crashes since 2003.
