House fire does $20,000 in damages to Iowa City home

IOWA CITY - A house fire did about $20,000 in damages to a home Monday afternoon.
According to the Iowa City Fire Department, crews were called to 120 N. Dodge St. around 4:48 p.m. for a house fire. Responding firefighters encountered light smoke coming from the rear of the residence.
After determining the occupant was out of the home and ensuring no one else was inside, firefighters put out a fire in the first floor living room of the home.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
