Fight between women preceded Pheasant Ridge shooting in Iowa City

IOWA CITY - A fight between two women preceded a man being shot at Pheasant Ridge Apartments in Iowa City last week.

After the Feb. 6 fight, one of the women left the apartment complex at 2411 Bartelt Rd. and returned with Darius E. Davison, 20.

Police said Davison, 20, pulled a gun and fired at least four bullets at the other woman's boyfriend, hitting him in the face and lower abdomen.

The man who was shot was taken to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in a private vehicle, where he was treated for two gunshot wounds, according to police.

Davison was identified and arrested Tuesday morning in Bloomington, Ill., by the U.S. Marshals Service. He has not yet been extradited to Johnson County, according to jail records.

Davison faces one count of attempted murder, a felony.
