SOLON - A Cedar Rapids man has been arrested in connection with a burglary alleged to have occurred earlier this year.
According to a Johnson County Sheriff's Office criminal complaint, deputies were called to a home in the 3900 block of Macbride Place NE in Solon around 3 a.m. July 12 for a report of a burglary. The homeowner reported chasing suspects from his garage and into the yard before witnessing a car leave from the house.
Authorities said they stopped a car matching the description and spoke with the driver. The driver admitted to dropping off two friends, including Debonayr L. Palmer, 20, of Cedar Rapids, at the residence. Palmer's mother also told deputies she picked up her son and another man after the burglary in the area of the burglary.
Palmer admitted to being in the area at the time of the burglary, authorities said. He faces one count of second-degree burglary, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
Detective Randy Lamm with the sheriff's office said warrants have been issued for two other men involved in the case, but they have not yet been arrested.
