Blood trail leads to Cedar Rapids man, stolen gun

CEDAR RAPIDS - A blood trail helped lead police to a man with a gun after a report of shots fired Thursday morning.
According to the Linn County Attorney's Office, Cedar Rapids police responded to a report of shots fired in the 1700 block of Bever Avenue SE. Police said they found a trail of blood leading into a residence in the 300 block of 17th Street SE.
Police entered the residence to look for victims and saw blood leading to the upper level of the residence. Officers found Jermain T. Felts, 23, upstairs. Felts was carrying a loaded .38 caliber pistol that was reported stolen out of Iowa City.
Felts was arrested and has been charged with trafficking stolen weapons.
