Iowa City police investigating home invasion

IOWA CITY - Iowa City police are investigating a report of a home invasion.
According to a news release, officers were called to a residence in the 1200 block of Laura Drive around 3:16 a.m. Wednesday for a report of a home invasion. The victim told police a 'taller” man wearing a tank top and blue hat tried to force his way inside. A handgun was displayed at one point, police said.
Police said the victim was able to lock himself inside a room and call police. The suspect fled from the area in an unknown vehicle, police said. The victim was not hurt.
Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of a suspect in this case. Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at (319) 358-8477.
