Marion man accused of assaulting woman in her home

MARION - A Marion man is accused of assault with intent to commit sexual abuse.
According to the Linn County Attorney's Office, a woman told police that Derick D. Taube, 37, was talking with her when he began making sexually explicit comments and 'suggestive language.” Authorities said Taube then grabbed the woman and began to touch himself before she forced him out of her residence.
Police said they spoke with Taube who admitted to being in the woman's home, but said he was too drunk to remember what occurred.
Assault with intent to commit sexual abuse is an aggravated misdemeanor punishable by up to two years in prison.
