IOWA CITY - An Oxford man is accused of sexually assaulting two women on the same morning.
According to Iowa City police criminal complaints, around 3 a.m. on Feb. 5, a woman was asleep and fully clothed in her bed in Iowa City. Police said Anthony C. Pocasangre Valladares, 20, entered the room, took off the woman's clothes and committed a sex act without the woman's consent.
Police said the woman woke up, but was unable to fight off Pocasangre Valladares. He allegedly told the woman, 'You know you wanted it.”
Authorities said Pocasangre Valladares left the room and a short time later, a second woman entered the room and found the first woman. While the second woman was in the closet getting clothes for the first woman, Pocasangre Valladares came back into the room and threw the second woman onto the bed, police said.
Police said Pocasangre Valladares sexually assaulted the second woman until the first woman was able to push him away. He then got dressed and left the apartment, police said.
A short time after the alleged incidents, the second woman got a text message from Pocasangre Valladares in which he apologized and blamed his actions on his 'drug and alcohol use,” police said.
Pocasangre Valladares faces two counts of third-degree sexual abuse, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
