LONE TREE - Two men are accused of shooting vehicles at their workplace in Lone Tree.
According to the Johnson County Sheriff's Office, around 2 p.m. Oct. 16, a witness saw Randy E. Mendoza, 21, of Muscatine; and Giovanni G. Mendoza, 20, of Columbus Junction shooting a gun in the parking lot of Syngenta, 5535 Highway 22 East, where they are employed. Mendoza's actions caused damage to two vehicles, the sheriff's office said.
The vehicles sustained more than $1,000 worth of damage, authorities said. A gun was located in a vehicle and the damage to the vehicles was consistent with that firearm, police said.
Each man faces one count of second-degree criminal mischief, a felony punishable by up to five years in prison.
