IOWA CITY - Authorities continue searching for a woman reported missing nearly a month ago.
Iowa City police said Katherine 'Katie” J. Brooker, 37, was last seen on March 10 at Mercy Iowa City. Since that time, investigators have followed up on several leads that have been unfruitful, police said today.
The Johnson County Sheriff's Office and Iowa City Fire Department are to search along the banks of the Iowa River today in response to a tip about a possible sighting of Brooker along the riverbank.
No foul play is suspected in Brooker's disappearance, police said. Authorities said Brooker was reported to have health issues that could lead to further health and safety concerns if she is not located.
Brooker is described as being 5 feet 9 inches tall, 195 pounds with light brown hair and blue eyes. Police said she was last seen wearing a silver coat and red stocking cap. Authorities do not believe she has access to a vehicle, cellphone or money.
Anyone with information on Brooker's whereabouts is asked to call the Iowa City Police Department or Johnson County Joint Emergency Communications Center at (319) 356-6800.
