Coverage from Carver:
» Iowa sprints away from Missouri, marches to the Sweet 16
» Makenzie Meyer a 'difference-maker' again for Iowa women's basketball
» Game recap: Iowa pulls away from Missouri for Sweet 16 berth
Turning point: The game was still in the balance heading to the fourth quarter as the Hawkeyes led 47-41. That's when the Hawkeyes locked down on defense, holding Mizzou scoreless for the first 5:14 of the quarter as they built a 17-point lead. Tania Davis and Makenzie Meyer hit 3-pointers to jump start the offense and go up double digits.
MVP: Megan Gustafson put up her typical numbers (24 points, 19 rebounds) but Meyer deserves a lot of credit too. On a day when a number of other Hawkeyes struggled, Meyer came up big time and time again. She knocked down 4 of 7 3-point attempts and totaled 18 points, four assists and three rebounds.
Key stat: 4-14. Missouri led 20-16 after one quarter but struggled offensively most of the rest of the way. That was no more apparent than in the fourth quarter, when the Tigers were 4 of 14 from the field as the Hawkeyes pulled away.
