MARION - Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday evening.
According to a Linn County Sheriff's Office news release, the sheriff's office, Marion police and fire and Area Ambulance responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash at 5:26 p.m. Tuesday at Highway 100 and 31st Street near Marion. There, first responders determined that Michelle Butler, 47, of Marion, had been driving eastbound on Highway 100 and turned north onto 31st Street. Her Toyota Camry was hit by a westbound Ford Taurus driven by Jody Martin, 50, of Mount Vernon.
Authorities said Butler and Martin were taken to Unity Point-St. Luke's Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. They were wearing their seat belts and were the only occupants of the vehicle, the sheriff's office said.
Butler was cited for failure to yield upon left turn.
