DUBUQUE - An Indiana woman wanted for attempted murder was arrested in Dubuque Thursday morning.
According to a news release from the U.S. Marshal's Office, marshals nabbed 31-year-old Danette Jones at a local business. She was arrested without incident, the marshals said.
The Gary, Ind. Police Department obtained an attempted homicide warrant for Jones on Dec. 8 and began working with the Marshal's Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force to round up multiple suspects. While all of the other suspects were captured, Jones remained at large, the marshals said.
Earlier this month, members of the marshal's Northern Iowa Fugitive Task Force, the Dubuque Police Department and Dubuque County Sheriff's Office developed information that Jones had fled to Eastern Iowa and was staying at a residence in Dubuque.
Thursday morning, Jones was observed walking into a business in the 1700 of John F. Kennedy Road in Dubuque. Jones was taken to the Dubuque County Jail where she is awaiting extradition back to Indiana.
