One injured in Linn County crash

LINN COUNTY - An Alburnett man was injured in a crash in Linn County Wednesday morning.

According to the Linn County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to an injury collision at the intersection of County Home Road and the C Avenue Extension at 6:03 a.m. There, deputies learned 51-year-old Russell Recker, 51, of Alburnett, had been southbound on C Avenue Extension when he failed to yield to the right of way at County Home Road.

Recker hit a car driven by Michael Silver, 41, of Central City. Recker was taken to Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids by Center Point Ambulance. Silver was not injured, deputies said.

Recker has been cited for failing to obey a stop sign and failing to yield the right of way. The crash remains under investigation.
