Motorcycle rider killed in morning collision with semi

A Cedar Rapids man died Monday after colliding with a semi while driving a motorcycle.
According to the Cedar Rapids Police Department, 24-year-old Evan Volkers exited Interstate 380 northbound around 6:50 a.m. Monday and turned west onto the Highway 100/Collins Road overpass. Police said Volkers collided with a semi-trailer truck that was traveling southbound.
The driver of the semi was not injured in the crash, police said.
