Two face charges in multicounty burglary investigation

BREMER COUNTY - Two men have been arrested in a multicounty, multiagency burglary investigation and more arrests are likely on the way.
According to the Bremer County Sheriff's Office, on Jan. 13, deputies responded to a burglary in Waverly. At the time an investigation was launched into the break-in, deputies from the Floyd County Sheriff's Office were able to provide information from a traffic stop that led officers to identify two suspects. With the assistance of the Floyd and Worth County sheriff's offices, the Mason City Police Department and the Iowa Department of Public Safety, two more people of interest were identified, according to Bremer County.
Authorities said a similar incident also occurred in Worth County.
According to the news release, on Jan. 23, multiple agencies executed search warrants at five different locations - three in Mason City and two in Northwood. Police said items from the Bremer County burglary were discovered in Northwood and items from a Worth County burglary were discovered at one Mason City location.
As a result of the investigation, authorities have arrested Lover D. Montgomery, 28, of Mason City. Montgomery has been charged with fourth-degree theft - possession of stolen property in Floyd County for the Bremer County burglary. Additionally, authorities in Mason City have charged him with second-degree theft and fourth-degree theft - possession of stolen property for a Worth County burglary.
On Monday, police arrested a second subject, 36-year-old Eric D. Brown of Northwood. Brown faces a possession of stolen property charge for a Worth County burglary and use of a stolen credit card charge for the Bremer County burglary.
Bremer County authorities said charges are pending against additional suspects that have not yet been located.
