Cedar Rapids teen accused of stealing vehicles, leading police on pursuit

CEDAR RAPIDS - A Cedar Rapids teen faces a multitude of charges after stealing two vehicles and leading police on a high-speed chase.
According to a Linn County Attorney's Office criminal complaint, police were dispatched to the 1100 block of Memorial Drive SE on Feb. 21 for a theft and discovered that the suspect, later identified as 18-year-old Dylan Vandresar, had stolen a 2005 Chevy K1500 truck and destroyed it.
Police said Vandresar stole another vehicle, as well as commercial box fans and a nail gun. Vandresar led police on a pursuit, topping the speed limit by '25 mph or more,” according to the criminal complaint.
The criminal complaint states Vandresar broke into other vehicles, all on a stretch of 25th Street SE in Cedar Rapids.
Vandresar was arrested and faces charges of first-degree theft, second-degree theft, attempting to elude, three counts of third-degree burglary and interference with official acts.
