Edgewood man injured in semi rollover

MARION - An Edgewood man was injured in a semi rollover Wednesday morning.

According to the Linn County Sheriff's Office, around 5:53 a.m., deputies, Marion police and fire and Area Ambulance Service personnel responded to Highway 13 south of Indian Creek Way for a single-vehicle crash. First responders found a semi-trailer truck overturned in the southbound lanes of Highway 13.

Authorities said the driver, Mathew W. Hilliard, 45, of Edgewood, suffered non-life threatening injuries in the crash. He was taken to Unity Point-St. Luke's Hospital for treatment. Hilliard was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.

A gust of wind is believed to be responsible for the rollover, but the crash remains under investigation by the sheriff's office.
