UPDATE: Three Cedar Rapids residents die in crashes

UPDATE: A third Cedar Rapids resident died in a crash Saturday morning.
Around 11:30 a.m. Saturday, 35-year-old Aaron Meyer of Cedar Rapids died when his car rear-ended a semi-trailer truck that had slowed for a partial closure of a westbound lane on Interstate 80 near Williamsburg, according to the Iowa State Patrol. The truck driver was not injured.

UPDATE: According to a news release by the Linn County Sheriff's Office, the passenger in Stastny's vehicle has been identified as Kaelonnie Moore, 22, of Cedar Rapids and the driver of the northbound vehicle has been identified as Darla J. Moander, 43, of Cedar Rapids.

WALFORD — Two people were killed in a two-vehicle crash near Walford Friday night.
According to the Linn County Sheriff's Office, around 11:26 p.m. Friday, 22-year-old Brianna E. Stastny of Cedar Rapids was driving south on Amana Road when she attempted to pass another vehicle. Authorities said Stastny hit a northbound vehicle head on.
Stastny's vehicle came to rest in the ditch and the northbound vehicle remained on the road. Stastny was taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for non-life threatening injuries. Her passenger, as well as the driver of the northbound vehicle were both pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash victims are not being named at this time. The crash remains under investigation by the sheriff's office.
The Marion Police Department, Iowa State Patrol, Fairfax Fire Department and Area Ambulance also responded to the crash.
