Fifth man arrested in connection with Iowa City robbery

IOWA CITY - A fifth man has been arrested in connection with a November robbery.
According to Iowa City police criminal complaints. Leroy H. Dix, 18, of Coralville, faces two counts of third-degree robbery and one count of riot. The charges are aggravated misdemeanors punishable by up to two years in prison.
Police said Dix was one of several men who robbed a group of people on Nov. 6 in Iowa City. Previously arrested in connection with the case were Artquon Kirksey, 19; Kiwon Clay, 21; Ali A. Ali, 20; and Arthur L. Kirksey, 20.
Officers responded to 511 S. Gilbert St. around 10:53 p.m. Nov. 6 for an assault in progress. Police said a group of seven or more men assaulted and robbed several people.
One woman reported that the men tried to grab her purse before punching her in the stomach, police said. A man said he was held down by several suspects while others went through his pockets. The assailants took a phone from one person, police said.
Dix was also wanted for violating his probation, according to court documents.
