Iowa City woman faces charges after pulling bat, knife during brawl

IOWA CITY - An Iowa City woman faces multiple charges, including a felony, for her alleged her role in a brawl last month.
According to Iowa City police criminal complaints, officers were called to Town & Campus Apartments, 1100 Arthur St., at 1:20 p.m. Dec. 18 for a report of a fight involving multiple people wielding weapons, including a baseball bat and knives. By the time officers arrived, most of the suspects had fled, police said.
Officers spoke with the victims and learned that 22-year-old Rayshonda P. Hannon swung a baseball bat at one of the victims. When the victim knocked away the bat, Hannon allegedly pulled a long kitchen knife on the victim.
The victim reported that Hannon had stolen their cellphone, which led to the melee.
Hannon has been arrested and faces charges of going armed with intent, a Class D felony; first-degree harassment, an aggravated misdemeanor; and trespass causing injury or damage, a serious misdemeanor.
