IHSAA boys basketball rankings feature a new top-ranked team in Class 1A
Algona Garrigan takes over the top spot

CEDAR RAPIDS - Algona Garrigan is your new top-ranked team in Class 1A, as the Iowa High School Athletic Association dropped its latest boys basketball rankings.
The Bears knocked off previous number one Fort Dodge St. Edmond last week, 61-59. Garrigan is 14-1, its lone loss this season to Class 2A No. 6 Western Christian by four points.
St. Edmond (12-2) dropped from first to fourth. Marcus MMCRU (14-0) is second, Burlington Notre Dame (17-0) third and Coon Rapids-Bayard (14-1) fifth.
Town mates Bellevue Marquette and Bellevue (both 14-1) come in sixth and seventh, respectively.
The rankings in Class 4A contain the same 10 teams as last week, with a bit of shuffling in the bottom five after Bettendorf lost to North Scott by eight points. The Bulldogs went from seventh to ninth.
Cedar Falls (13-0) is a solid number one, followed by Waukee Northwest (12-1), West Des Moines Dowling (12-1), Waukee (12-2) and Dubuque Senior (12-1). Linn-Mar (9-3) inched from ninth last week to eighth this week.
Clear Lake (9-1) lost last week at a neutral site to Dallas Center-Grimes and dropped from second to ninth in Class 3A. Huxley Ballard (13-0) remains top ranked, with Cedar Rapids Xavier (9-4), Dubuque Wahlert (9-5) and Center Point-Urbana (11-3) seventh, eighth and 10th, respectively.
Solon remained No. 6.
Orange City Unity Christian (14-1) remains top dog in Class 2A, with Carroll Kuemper (13-3) climbing ahead of Iowa City Regina (12-1) into second. The Regals dropped slightly to third.
LaPorte City Union Community (13-1) moved from eighth to seventh this week. Monticello dropped out of the top 10.
