Iowa high school boys’ tennis 2024 district and substate assignments

Linn-Mar and Iowa City West have been selected as host schools by the Iowa High School Athletic Association for the Class 2A boys’ tennis district singles and doubles tournaments to be held around the state on May 8.

The No. 2 Lions will be joined by No. 6 Cedar Rapids Washington in the six-team field. No. 4 West is the only ranked team in its district.

No. 9 Cedar Rapids Prairie will play in the Marshalltown district.

In Class 1A, No. 3 Cedar Rapids Xavier has been assigned to the Fairfield district. No. 7 Decorah will host a district that includes No. 5 Waverly-Shell Rock.

All district winners and runners-up will advance to the state tournament. Those meets will be May 21-22 and will be played at the Hawkeye Recreation and Tennis Center in Iowa City (2A) and Waterloo's Byrnes Park (1A).

Team substate assignments have also been released. The first and second round duals will take place at one site on May 11 with the substate finals set for May 15. Matchups and sites will be released on May 3 after seeding meetings between the coaches.

The state team tournament is scheduled for May 30-31 at Waukee Northwest High School (2A) and the Hawkeye Recreation and Tennis Center in Iowa City (1A).
