Scavenger hunt: Find these animal tracks

While many humans are staying mostly at home, Iowa's wildlife is out sniffing, scurrying and flying around. How many of these animal prints can you find in a campsite, your backyard or on a walk around your neighborhood?

Dog:

This one's easy - surely your neighbors are out walking their dogs, who leave pawprints behind in dirt and mud. Dogs' tracks have a larger triangle shape in the middle, with four smaller circles on top.

Raccoon:

Did you know raccoons have five fingers, just like humans? Luckily they don't have opposable thumbs, or they would be unstoppable. Their tracks look like hands, with five long fingers.

Deer:

Deer are also very common in Iowa, and this time of year you might find smaller deer tracks from fawns. These animals' prints look like a long oval with a line dividing the two halves.

Canada goose:

This is a territorial bird you can definitely find if you live in Cedar Rapids. Geese's webbed feet leave behind one long skinny line with two shorter lines on the side. If you really want to find one, take a walk by the river - but be careful of getting too close!
