Turning point: Iowa made four of its first six 3-point attempts and sprinted to an 18-4 lead 7 1/2 minutes into the game. Joe Wieskamp, CJ Fredrick, Luka Garza and Jordan Bohannon all hit shots from deep in the early stages. The Hawkeyes didn't stay that hot for long, but it proved to be enough of an advantage to hold off any Iowa State comeback attempt.

MVP: Just about every Hawkeye played well, but we have to go with one of the best players in the country so far. Luka Garza poured in 21 points, pulled down 11 rebounds and dished three assists against the Cyclones. He was 9 of 15 from the field.
