Cedar Rapids Prairie — The potential is there for a big leap in the 4A standings (the Hawks were 14th last year). Geramie Hardaway is a holdover from last year’s shuttle hurdle relay championship quartet.
Clear Creek Amana — After finishing sixth in Class 3A last year, the Clippers could be poised to bring home a trophy in May. Of CCA’s 32 state points from 2021, 24 1/2 return, led by versatile seniors Harrison Rosenberg and Gavin Zillyette.

Linn-Mar — The Lions have a pair of individual title threats in the field events: McKade Jelinek is the defending champion in the 4A discus, and T.J. Jackson was third in the high jump. Those two represent 16 of the 19 returning state points.
