Iowa City police investigate drive-by shooting

IOWA CITY — The Iowa City Police Department is investigating a drive-by shooting that injured one person.
Officers responded to a 911 call around 10:59 p.m. Monday for a report of a woman who had been shot in the 700 block of Michael Street, according to a news release.
Witnesses reported the woman was struck in a drive-by shooting as she was sitting in her vehicle in the parking lot.

Police said the woman was taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
No arrests have been made, and police do not believe the shooting was a random event.
Anyone with information — including security camera footage — is asked to contact the police department at (319) 356-5275. Iowa City Area Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest.
