MARION — A teen received minor injuries when he was hit by a truck while riding his bike Thursday morning.

According to the Marion Police Department, first responders were called to the intersection of Tower Terrace Road and Tenth Street for a crash involving a bicyclist and a truck. Authorities said a teenage boy was in the crosswalk when Todd Evans, 50, of Marion, turned from Tower Terrace onto Tenth Street and hit the boy. A crossing guard was helping children cross the street at the time of the collision, police said.

Police said the boy was not wearing a helmet, but suffered only minor injuries before being released. Evans, who was not injured, received a traffic citation, police said.
