One month later, still no arrest in Coggon fatal shooting

COGGON - A month after the fatal shooting of Dylan Plotz in the small, Linn County community of Coggon, no arrests have been made.
Linn County Sheriff Brian Gardner said Wednesday police still are actively investigating the Feb. 1 incident. He said he isn't concerned the investigation has not produced an arrest yet.
'We are speaking with the attorneys to see where the investigation might end up,” Gardner said in an email.
Deputies responded to 2260 Seven Hills Road - about five miles southwest of Coggon, population 650 - for a report of a fight and shooting. There, they found Plotz' body in the yard.
Authorities interviewed 11 people after the shooting, but none of them were arrested. Investigators also served warrants on vehicles and multiple properties, including the home where the shooting is alleged to have occurred.
Gardner said last month the case was taking investigators in 'a couple different” directions and wanted to ensure the shooting was thoroughly investigated. He said he didn't expect arrests to come quickly in the case.
Gardner said Wednesday his investigators still are processing some evidence in the case.
