DELHI — A Delhi man died Monday after his vehicle went into Lake Delhi.

According to the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, Delhi and Manchester fire rescue crews responded to Lake Delhi at 12:28 p.m. Monday for a report of a vehicle that had gone through the ice on the north end of the lake. Responding officials found a vehicle upside down in about eight feet of water.

Authorities used an underwater camera to determine one person was inside the vehicle. It was determined the vehicle had likely gone through the ice sometime Sunday evening, according to the sheriff’s office.

A diver was called to the lake and the vehicle was removed using a crane, authorities said. The victim was identified as 23-year-old Alex S. Salow.

The incident remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.
