CEDAR RAPIDS — Cedar Rapids police are investigating the death of a Coralville man who was apparently hit by a vehicle earlier this week.

Cedar Rapids communications coordinator Gail Loskill said officers responded to the 3200 block of Sixth Street SW at 11:40 p.m. March 13 for a report of a man down in the roadway. Police found 29-year-old Lavell Robinson, Jr. in the road.

Loskill said police believe Robinson had been hit by a vehicle. He died at the scene, Loskill said.

No one has been arrested at this time and police are awaiting autopsy information and witness statements.
