UNI wrestle-offs set for Nov. 6

The University of Northern Iowa has scheduled wrestle-offs for Saturday, Nov. 6 at 10 a.m. in the West Gym. Wrestle-offs will be open to the public and admission is free.
This will be the first season under head coach Doug Schwab, a former national champion for the University of Iowa and a former Hawkeye assistant coach under Tom Brands.

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - *The University of Northern Iowa wrestling team will take to the mat for the first time in the 2010-11 season, hosting its annual inter-squad scrimmage. The wrestle-offs will begin Saturday, Nov. 6 at 10 a.m. in the West Gym. The event is free and open to the public.
The Panthers return six national qualifiers including All-American Jarion Beets. Beets and Christian Brantley are currently ranked in the Amateur Wrestling News preseason rankings for their respective weight classes. Beets comes in at No. 10 at 174 pounds while Brantley comes in at No. 16 in the heavyweight slot.
The Panthers will open the 2010-11 season Nov. 14 at the Northwestern Duals facing McKendree, Northwestern and UW-Parkside. UNI's first home wrestling match will be Nov. 20 against Old Dominion in the West Gym at 2 p.m.
