UNI faces Old Dominion in home opener Saturday

Doug Schwab's era as the UNI Panthers' head wrestling coach has begun but Saturday marks its first dual at home. The Panthers host Old Dominion for a dual Saturday at 2 p.m.
The Panthers opened competition last weekend, going 2-1 at the Northwestern Duals. UNI defeated McKendree (Ill.) and UW-Parkside before dropping its last meet of the day to Northwestern. Nick Pickerell (165), returning after battling injuries the last two seasons, and heavyweight Christian Brantley each went 3-0. Cruse Aarhus (125) and Ryan Jauch (133) led a group of Panthers at the Harold Nichols Open. Both earned runner-up finishes in the tournament.
