Ten Hawkeye wrestlers earn academic honors

The 2010-11 University of Iowa Hawkeye wrestling team posted a program record number on the Big Ten Winter All-Academic team. According to the Iowa sports website, to be eligible for academic all-Big Ten, student-athletes must be letterwinners and be in at least their second academic year at the institution. They must also carry a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better.
The Hawkeyes placed 10 wrestlers on the academic all-Big Ten team, second only to the women's swimming and diving team which had 11 athletes honored. Among the wrestlers named to the list are All-American 197-pound senior Luke Lofthouse, who placed fifth at the NCAA tournament, and Big Ten champion heavyweight Blake Rasing.
