Telford sits atop heavyweight class in new AWN rankings

What does a win over a two-time NCAA Division I champion earn you? The top spot in the latest AWN D-I individual rankings, released Tuesday.
Iowa heavyweight Bobby Telford climbed to first in the individual rankings after a 3-1 overtime win Saturday against Minnesota's Tony Nelson. He is one of 10 Hawkeyes ranked.
UNI has climbed into the top-five nationally and has six ranked individuals. Joe Colon leads the Panthers, holding the No. 1 spot at 133 pounds.
Iowa State's Kyven Gadson is the highest-ranked Cyclone, earning the No. 2 spot behind Minnesota's Scott Schiller. He is one of three ISU wrestlers in the individual rankings.
