State champs Wempen, Witte highlight all-metro teams

The Cedar Rapids/Marion All-Metro wrestling team was released Friday. The team includes state champions Matt Wempen of Linn-Mar and Cedar Rapids Prairie's Zach Witte. Wempen, a freshman, won the 106-pound title in 3A, while Witte, a senior, completed his second straight undefeated season with the 152-pound 3A crown.
Cedar Rapids Kennedy state finalist Luke Kremer (132) and Linn-Mar state runners-up Ross Lembeck (145) and Mark Atwater (182) are on the first team. Cedar Rapids Xavier's Jack Boland (195) and heavyweight Tyler Burrell of Cedar Rapids Washington were also named to the first team.
