Prairie's Witte and North Linn's Mulnix will compete against USA Dream Team

Some of the best talent in the country will return to Iowa City in the Cliff Keen Athletic and Wrestling USA Dream Team Classic, featuring some of the nation's best prep wrestlers against a team of Iowa's best seniors. The all-star meet will be held April 20th at Iowa City West High School, and serve as a prelude to the USA Wrestling Olympic Trials April 21-22 at Carver Hawkeye Arena.

In 2008, West hosted the meet that featured eventual NCAA champions Matt McDonough of University of Iowa, Oklahoma State's Jordan Oliver and Penn State's Quentin Wright. In that dual, Oliver defeated McDonough and Wright fell to West state champ and Hawkeye All-American Grant Gambrall.

Among this year's Iowa team are two-time state champions Phillip Laux and Dakota Bauer of Iowa City West, Cedar Rapids Prairie's Zach Witte and North Linn's Logan Mulnix.

Witte, who will wrestle next season at University of Northern Iowa, just completed his second straight undefeated season and capped his career with a 67-match win streak. Mulnix, a three-time state finalist, won his second title in three years, joining Lynx four-time state champ Dan LeClere as the school's only four-time state medalists and multiple state champs.

Iowa recruit Nate Skonieczny, of Walsh Jesuit (Ohio) High School, will also compete, wrestling against Mulnix.
