Pinning Combination podcast: A mid-January look at all things wrestling in Iowa
The Gazette
Jan. 15, 2019 9:10 pm
Wrestling teams around the state trudged through the snow last weekend and might have to do it again this weekend. The Gazette's K.J. Pilcher, The Predicament's Wyatt Schultz and former Cedar Rapids Jefferson coach Dick Briggs braved the weather as well and recap all the action on this week's Pinning Combination.
Among the highlights in the first segment (college): Cornell's Cliff Keen-Mike Duroe Invitational and Iowa's win over Minnesota, which included some controversy.
In the second segment (high school) is a look at some of last week's notable tournaments, including the J-Hawk Invitational at Cedar Rapids Jefferson, plus a look ahead to this week's top competitions, including the first girls' state tournament in Waverly.
