Iowa streak on the line against Oklahoma State in Stillwater

Jan. 13, 2011 2:46 pm
The University of Iowa owns a 69-match dual win streak, tying two separate Oklahoma State streaks (1921-32 and from 96-99) for second all-time. If the Hawkeyes are going to claim 70 in a row it will be at the expense of the Cowboys, whose 76-dual win streak from 1937-51 is tops.
The No. 10 Hawkeyes take on sixth-ranked Oklahoma State Sunday in Stillwater, Okla., at 2 p.m. Iowa is 8-0 overall and the Cowboys are 7-2, losing to Virginia Tech and Missouri to place sixth at the Cliff Keen/NWCA National Duals last weekend at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls.
The nation's top-two traditional programs are intertwined and the streaks emphasize that. OSU is the last team to beat Iowa, 19-14, on Jan. 5, 2008. Iowa's school record 44-dual win streak on the road is also in jeopardy.
