Apple Valley, Alan Rice honored

WATERLOO - The National Wrestling Hall of Fame Dan Gable Museum will honor Apple Valley (Minn.) High School and Alan Rice Oct. 1 on the campus of NCAA Division III wrestling power Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Minn.
Apple Valley, which is coached by Iowa native and former Luther graduate Jim Jackson, is one of the nation's top prep programs. They have been named the top program nationally the last two seasons and have 19 total state team titles.
Rice, whose name, along with his wife, Gloria, graces the Alan & Gloria Rice Greco-Roman Hall of Champions. He will receive a leadership award.
