Class 4A top-ranked Cedar Rapids Xavier was businesslike in its 31-0 drubbing of No. 9 North Scott Friday night at Eldridge. The Saints won their 11th straight season opener.

The Cyclones (5-4, 2-4) collected three takeaways against the Sun Devils — one interception and two fumble recoveries — but still lost, 24-19, before a rain-sodden crowd of 60,899 at Jack Trice Stadium.
The Hawkeyes’ returner has been critical in Iowa’s game this season. With four opponents left in the regular season, special teams coordinator LeVar Woods expects the same consistency from Kaden Wetjen.
