Rebecca Pettit and Brian Peloza were married at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Marion on May 16. Deacon Frank Easton, of Cedar

Rapids, was the officiant. He's the godfather and uncle of the bride, so saying no to serving in that capacity really wasn't an option.

Deacon Frank's first wedding homily was not only thoughtful, but completed in under an hour. That was a win-win outcome. Julie

Hanson was the matron of honor, while Brian Remsberg was the best man. Jessica Pettit, Leah Youngblut, Ashley Behrens and Stacie Zech were bridesmaids. Bob Cacy, David Zech, Jim Bush and Robert Pettit were groomsmen.

Sophia Zech was the flower girl and Jacob Zech the ringbearer. Rebecca is the daughter of Craig and Sue Pettit of Cedar Rapids. Craig always had one requirement for a potential groom for his daughter: He had to be able to beat his future father-in-law in golf. Thankfully, that rule was bypassed, though Brian can

easily beat Sue in golf. Brian is the son of

Michael and Roxanne Peloza of Noblesville, IN. Michael may not admit it, but he was mildly

impressed with his son's smooth dance moves during the reception. The couple spent their honeymoon touring the islands of Hawaii. They reside in Indianapolis. The couple sincerely thanks all of their family and friends for helping make their wedding day a special one.
