united in marriage on August 9, 2014. Parents of the couple are Dr. Saturnino and Joan

Ortega of Cedar Rapids, and Larry and Margie Torgerson of Independence. Father Mark Ressler officiated the ceremony at St.

Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, followed by a reception at Touch of Class Banquet Hall. Kari Junginger of Iowa City, friend of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Mindi Bucklin and Vanessa Krejci of Cedar

Rapids, and Darcie Peterman of Chandler, AZ. Flower girl was Claire Kegler of Independence. Mark Torgerson of Independence, brother of the groom, served as best man. The bride graduated from the University of

Iowa with her BSN and is pursuing her DNP in family nurse practitioner at the University of

Iowa. She is employed as a registered nurse in the ER at Regional Medical Center in

Manchester. The groom graduated from Wartburg College with a degree in finance and is assistant vice president at BankIowa in

Independence. The newlyweds honeymooned in January to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, and currently reside in Independence.
